Greetings. I recently designed http://www.shoe-cleaner.com and
am now working on the SEO. My site is pretty much optimized according to Internet Business Promoter...and my own judgemet. I submitted my site to Google and some of the other engines, about 1 month ago, and still can't find my site in the SERPs. Are the spiders even coming by? Do i need backlinks, and if so, can you reccomend me some good information? Once I get ranked for the keywords "leahter cleaner" & "sh0e cleaner" I should start to make some sales...and measure my results... How can I speed up getting into the SERP's? I had a similar problem when i published my site few month back.
Time went by, nothing happened. Then I wrote an email to google complaining about not being index. Believe it or not but 3 days later they sent me a "templated" reply but the site got crawled the next day. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not - worth a try - cost nothing. Prepare to expirience google's "sendbox effect" though... |

Hello shoe-mgk.com.
>Are the spiders even coming by? Do you have access to your log file? >Do i need backlinks Yes. Since you're a new commercial site, you will have to buy some good ones to start off. You can submit to the free directories, but they won't be enough. Three good values are bluefind.com $50 one time fee, sevenseek.com $40 one time fee, and wowdirectory.com annual sponsored submission $20. I'll keep an eye on this thread. P.S. Did you spell "leahter" & "sh0e" so this post won't show up on SERPs for your KW? |

Hello shoe-mgk.com.
>How can I speed up getting into the SERP's? You're going to have to be patient in Google. See this discussion about the "March Filter" theory: http://forums.seochat.com/t16345/s.html >Once I get ranked for the keywords "leahter cleaner" & "sh0e cleaner" >I should start to make some sales...and measure my results... I think you will have to start out with PPC on a small scale so you can tinker with your website until you have a decent conversion rate. At that point, you can increase your budget. Some advice is in the thread, "PPC on a tight budget." http://www.jimworld.com/apps/webmaster.forums/action::thread/thread::1095634219/forum::ppc-search-engines/type::active/ >Are the spiders even coming by? Just search your log file for lines containing "googlebot", "msnbot", "slurp" (which is yahoo), and teoma (ask.com). The line will contain the file that was spidered and the date it was fetched. >i have a free hit counter I think they look unprofessional on an e-commerce site. You can get all the same info from your stats. Last edited by quadcity : October 15th, 2004 at 02:48 AM. Reason: Typo. |

I think you are on the right track to get your site going... But you need links the more the better

You need links. Google has not even cached your home page yet. Submit to as many directories as possible and trade links with related sites.

Oh yes, get more backlinks. Even MSNtechpreview only shows SEOChat forum backlinks, so this must become your main activity as of now. Look for high-ranking directories on strongestlinks.com/directories.php or search the SEOChat forums for spiderable directories... Lots of them about, even free ones.
