Err, yes.
Google does this theming thing - it reckons that if lots of sites about computers link to another site about computers then that other site must have some useful computer stuff on it. It's probably less likely to have useful stuff about bannana genetics, so the site with the links from other bannana genetics sites gets the glory there.
They don't discount that a site about bannana genetics might have found a useful computer site that's helped them work things out, so they've linked to that to spread the vord.
At the end of the day the search engines want to list useful stuff. Make your site useful, people link to it, search engines go with the vote. So content is good too.
