Okay... I think I made all of the previously suggested changes...
Please re-check this site and let me know if I am at least headed in the correct direction concerning best possible seo techniques in a highly competetive field (only necessary to check the homepage as I will complete optimizing the rest of the site after the plan is complete on the main page) Thanks in advance for any and all words of advice! http://bellsouthpwp.net/g/n/gnc_web_creations/

I think i commented on your site once before, below are some more modifications:
- change the "Home" link on all your internal pages to "GNC Web Creations - Home" or whatever your main keyword is - remove the mailto link at the bottom of the pages, you will get spammed to hell and back!!! - get some more inbound links and directory submissions You should be good to go! Best of luck. |

Already did that the last time we talked... on the home button... should I also change the text link at the bottom? Quote:
Will work on more inbound links but the site is already indexed in all the major search engines and directories Definitely have noticed the spam in email... but delete button seems to work well... lol... they seem to find it one way or another so I haven't worried about it.. Thanks sooooo much for all the help! Last edited by ghostncricket : June 30th, 2003 at 11:11 PM. |

I think thats what i meant originally, in the footer links. The concept is - all your internal pages will help your home page link popularity score (PR) and will help form a theme (keyword) for the page. Below are some more general FYI's to keep in mind: - if i was working on your site, i would move the navigation to the right side of the content on every page, although that is a lot work! - i noticed the site is either hosted by an isp or someone else's website? keep inmind if and when you want to switch to your own domain, you will loose your page reputation with your current domain in the engines, use proper javascript redirects. - i would try to find link partners that have a pr4 and above - add content as you go, try to make it a goal to create an article a week or month something along those lines. Best of luck!!!

Bigger Grrrrrr..... lol... that will have to be in the future! Way tooooooo much work right now... but I definitely agree with ya! Quote:
Yeah... site is on my isp... moving it within 2 weeks and will definitely use correct re-directs! Quote:
This is my biggest focus at this time... I have an article being published the middle of this month and will add it to my site soon... Hardest part for me is finding topics of interest... any ideas? ;-) Once again... thank's for your time! |

If writing comes natural to you then I am sure once you get in the groove of pumping out articles, it will be pretty easy.
Writing for a website like yours should be easy, you could do some of the following: - write more content about yourself and your services - write articles about your site's theme such as web design, web safe colors, basic html concepts, etc. When I say articles, it doesn't need to be a really long indepth tutorial, maybe something along the lines of 500 words. But certainly make it a goal to do one a week or month, or at least find an article on the web that you can repurpose, with the author's permission of course. |

Thanks again for the sound advice! I actually love writing... You may have noticed I tend to jabber too much on my site and always have to go back and cut out some content... Just give me topics and I will go on and on! lol... I do want to clarify your comments to make sure I understand... Are you suggesting posting the articles on my own site or having them published elsewhere and linked back in? Also... If anyone else is watching this thread, I could still use any additional advice! Thanks!!!!! |

I would recommend both strategies for your articles. Write them on your site, then either submit them to other sites with a link back to your site (inbound link) and also provide a section on the articles on your site that expresses permission for people to copy them if everything is intact and make sure they leave a link to your site as the author.

There we go... I re-did the footer links to better represent the keywords I am focusing on. Hopefully that will make a bit of a difference when the spiders crawl again... This next crawl will be the first time I have actually put any optimization techniques on this site... so should at least show some improvement.
Will focus on preparing articles and getting them published, and also using them in the manner you suggested. Now... good lawd... time to optimize the rest of the pages.... grrrrrrrr.... lol... Thanks For EVERYTHING! |

I was just wondering... The posting shows that there has been 48 views of this post... yet only asmith has replied... Sure hope that doesn't mean the site isn't worth commenting on?

Figured I would make one last plea...
Any chance of getting any additional feedback on the main page of this site? |

Looks alright.
I would add descriptions to your links on your site map page (usually pulled from your meta description tag to be consistent). you might want to try visiting some of the other forums to get some more feedback, just a thought. best of luck! |
