RateMyHost.com - site review please ;)

Hello,

I just wanted to see if someone could quickly glance over my site - http://www.ratemyhost.com

The site itself is not new, and I hold good rankings on Google, but I just switched designs, and I want to make sure to cover my tracks before we hit the dance floor.

Would appreciate any comments, in the case of my overlooking something.

Thanks a lot guys, and gals.

Zak

I would make your logo larger. The first thing that I look at when I go to the site is the word SHOWCASE. If I leave your site, chances are I'm not going to remember the name because there is nothing to remind me. I would make the navigational links at the top bigger as well.

Since Showcase is drawing the visitor's eye, put the meat of your site there. Place featured hosts AND their ratings there. Bold them out.

Also, your visitors are probably shopping for a host. Shoppers like to see prices up front... they don't like hunting them down. Try to bring the best prices on your opening page.

Are you making money from site affiliation? If not, you should be. When I check ratings, you are displaying the highest rated hosts. Great! Now if I decide to click on one, I am seeing 2 bad things happen:

1. There is no affiliation information in the link. I didn't check your source code, but you should be making a cut on the referral. If you are masking the referral info, good for you.

2. The site I click on opens in the same window. I am now completely off of your site. If I decide to explore the site I clicked on, I will have to hit the back button a lot to get back to your site.
Make your links open in new windows to prevent this.

Very good suggestions- I sure appreciate it!

As for the Top Hosts section, I certainly need to have an affiliate link as thats probably the most effective spot on the site.

Thanks again, and I'll be using ALL of your suggestions . ;)
