Hi

Please give your sharp (and brutally honest) opinion on the layout and site copy for this site -

http://www.SEOtop10.com

- Does the copy flow smoothly?
- Is it too long?
- Loading speed?
-Any other thing you would care to mention?

Thanks for your time!

Arun,

You have a nice domain name there! One quick note, you are going to be spammed to hell with your "subscribe@ebizindia.com" email address. There are spam robots that surf the net just to find the "mailto:" link and will capture the email, you will have an endless supply of "Do you want your penis larger?" emails, just FYI.

Okay on to the good stuff:

- long letter format = effective for the user, not so effective for the engines but there are work arounds!

- get lots and lots of inbound links (PR4+) and include your keywords within the link text

- use your blogger to create content and create a lot!

- make sure all pages are linking to your home page and using your keywords within the link text

- and again, get lots and lots or inbound links

For a category such as SEO, content is key for high placement. Create your own articles and submit them to places such as promotiondata.com and searchengineguide.com.

And so it is.

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions!

I know about the bots but did not bother much as the autoresponder will take care. However I might shift to an alternative method soon to avoid the hassle.

I already have a blog and putting in some relevant stuff. Will take some time to build relevant content :-) Google Toobar 2 makes it easier to blog BTW.

Building links one by one. I don't want to trade links with everyone though. So its taking more time. Also guestbook links are useless as far as SEO goes. So avoiding those as well.

I have put in some articles. Working on some more.

A very useful avenue that I found is Press releases. I have a Press release floating on the 'net and some people have picked it up. Thinking of releasing some more when suitable events take place.

Just some points on the design.

I would take out the form checkboxes and replace them with a regular list... I just dont know why, but I get annoyed to be able to cross something, and then nothing comes out of it

And your design is really well-suited for a CSS design, you would make your pagesize half in kb's and load faster that the fastes gun in texas... Even if you don't want to go to a full CSS-design, you could clear out a ton of code by using CSS.

But for a site that promises top10 ranking with Google I Would really expect more, but that's my own opinion ;)

/Jan

Yes that will also make the pages load faster, and will make updating ALL your pages much much faster.

Your suggestions are useful

Thanks Janno

Checkboxes - Thanks for checking them. The whole idea of putting them there is to get the prospect involved in more ways than just reading. Improves visotor-on-site time!

CSS - I agree! Actually I have been meaning to do it for quite some time but clients before self, you know ;-)

I will take it up today itself.

Hi Dan

Thanks for pointing it out. I am stumped as to how it can happen :-(

Any clues? This is about the simplest HTML that can be - no fancy layouts, commands or anything.

No idea, I copied the code to my editor and it looked fine - I noticed you don't have an encoding tag though?

META HTTP-EQUIV="content-type" CONTENT="text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1"

I wonder if it matters (I don't have this on many of my sites), but putting it anyway.

Appreciate your inputs, Dan!
