Hi. I used to run http://www.zwanmedia.com but moved the domain over yesterday to http://www.corganmedia.com
I am running PHP-Nuke and have google-tapped the site. I just wanted to see what you all thought about the site and what I could do to possibly get better rankings. I would love to be ranked high whenever anyone typed in "Billy Corgan" Thanks again guys and I also wanted to point out that I have this in my .htaccess file for http://corganmedia.com -- It basically rewrites it so it has "www" in front of it. I just wanted to see if google would hate that for some reason..here is the code: Code:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} =corganmedia.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^ http://www.corganmedia.com%{REQUEST_URI} [R,L]
Thanks! -HJ |

Yeah I'm sorry about it re-directing. It SHOULD be fixed now. When my host transferred the domain over to me it kept the old and new name servers and I went on vacation right after I posted the site on here. So its been working for me now after moving it to only the new name servers, so please let me know if it still redirects and i would love to hear everyones feedback on the site and how I can improve it. Thanks.

First thing I noticed - Your page is not optimised to be viewed properly by anyone with their screen resolution any larger than 1024x768.

your site seems informative. its very wide though. over 800 pixels may cause about 1/3 of your visitors to horizontal scroll. you biggest seo advise would be to get more sites linking to your site. you have zero pagerank. ![]()

Thanks for your replies so far. I really appreciate them. I wasnt even aware of the resolution problem. Could one of you all send me a screenshot of how exactly the site looks from your end? Since my computer cant go higher than 1024, I really cant test it. Thanks a lot.
You can mail the picture to webmaster@corganmedia.com -HJ |

you dont need a higher res computer to know that your site is too wide. simply reduce your browser window size and notice where your site stops compressing. [horizontally] :-P |

zoo is right.
just grab the edge of your browser window. (right hand side) and drag the window smaller. You will see that your site doesnt compress properly when it gets to a certain size and the user will have to use the horizontal scroll to see the right hand edge of your page. Id suggest making your site width no wider than 800 pixels, as alot ofpeople still use a resolution of 800x600. This will fix that problem. Ive just tried to access your site again, and its just timing out. You'll want to check that out. |
