Please critique my site www.lanyardsbygrace.com

I've been lurking here for quite some time, trying to learn as much as I can. I don't know much about SEO, and my site is homemade. But I don't understand why it doesn't show up on Google (it might be on the 20th page, but I got so discouraged, I stopped looking after page 15.)

I would appreciate any comments, suggests, etc. Feel free to comment on anything, including the colors, the pictures, or even if you don't like my beads, lol.

I am getting very few (less than 20 this month) visitors from google. Most of my visitors come to look at the free jewelry I'm giving away via a link on a freebies site. I actually get more hits from the yahoo search, and I don't understand why.

it doesn't look like you're in google, no pr, no backlinks and nothing showing up for www.lanyardsbygrace.com

I would take away that first index page and get straight into the site. At the top of your home page there is a paragraph with your domain in it, make it a link.

I like the jewellry.

I just checked my stats, and it shows 17 hits from google. When I do a search on google for the name of a particular lanyard I sell, it shows up on google.

The googlebot has hit my site consistently since April.

I do have a few backlinks, I don't understand why they don't show up.


I am totally puzzled by all of this.

Interestingly, I just typed "lanyardsbygrace" into my toolbar. The first result was my SEO profile. (I don't know why I find that so humorous. Maybe its because I haven't slept for over 20 hours. )

That is strange.

I just tried lanyardsbygrace.com and still nothing, but when I try lanyardsbygrace the privacy page and contest page show up.

If you do a search for Lanyards By Grace lanyardsbygrace.com/free.html comes up first. That page has a PR 3 and one backlink.

Hmmm.. Your only problem seems to be the lack of links! If i were you, i'd start by doing some link exchanges with other similar sites. Try to add a links page, and start some link exchanges. Or, if you are in a hurry, you should try buying some links.

You should also try submitting your website to DMOZ. This can be a good step forward, if it gets added.
