New site - can you please review?

I have a new site that I am trying to optimize for the search engines. It is www.protectyourkids.info which is a site aimed at parents to learn how to protect their children from both online and offline dangers. I am new to all of this optimization stuff, but I am learning quickly. I am specifically trying to target the keywords:

Internet Safety

I would truly appreciate any comments any of you have for a beginner like me.

Thank you,

Donna

DNS seems to be going up and down. You can view it from the IP address at http://66.154.89.75/~protect/

I have a support call into the hosting provider to see if the dns issue is on their end or not. I have a feeling its a dns server somewhere else though, because I'm having a problem getting to a few other sites as well, though most of them are coming up fine.

looks good, may need some minor tweeking but you should be in the top 30 to start with, then work on your links, try e-mailing portal pages to get links on them, and that will also be bring relavent content to their consumers, (parents with kids) on the internet.

Thanks everyone. I am working hard to get links to my site and am waiting the long wait for yahoo inclusion (dmoz wont include it). I appreciate the feedback!

When viewing at 800x600 - I lose the right side - [not that I view at that size], but I find many home users [which are your main target] are viewing at low resolution, even if their computer can go higher.

I would expect that you would get a viewer ratio something like 800x600-50% 1024x768-35%.

Good tip. A friend of mine pointed that out to me as well, and I've tried to squeeze it into 800x600 but have been unsuccessful so far. I will try harder. BTW, parenting-advice.net seems to have the same problem.

I know my site has the same problem [which is why I tested yours for it], and I too am trying to fix it, I had it working ok a few days ago on my machine using 800x600 with Mozilla, but I just tried it yesterday on another machine with IE, and it failed.
