Lots of new sites are indexed but not showing in the SERPs for their important keywords. Snoop the forums and search on "sandbox" to see what other people report on their sites.

Interesting data point....I've read so much about sandbox over last few months...but it didn't apply to me since I wasn't adding any new sites. But recently, I created a new site to test out some new things and linked to it from my homepage; it was picked up by Google within a week or so (all 5 pages). Not sure what accounts for this.
