My first website: www.ivybenson-online.com

This is my first website: URL It's a totally non commercial specialist site ( in fact it's already costing me money!) concerning Ivy Bensons All Girls Band which ran in the UK from 1939-1982. I am a fan of that periods swing music and also knew two of the girls in the 1950's.

I am a real novice, an amateur, recently retired in the UK, and would appreciate some help/advice - you will need to spell it out! Maybe I'm swimming in the wrong Pool here, but hope you can help. I am on a very steep learning curve particularly re Search Engines - not technical but practical. I have attempted to get the site online but, the more I read and try to understand, feel that I am missing something; please have a look at both design etc and the code.

This should be a fairly simple site - my visitors are likely to be ex band members (getting on a bit and not computer literate), or relatives, friends etc. Many members have now passed on, so I am keen to gather info for inclusion in the site before it disappears.

Please have a look; and don't fall of your chairs, laughing - at least I'm trying!

WOW!

Actually you are way ahead of where I was with my first site! Honestly not bad at all!

The only thing I might consider changing is the color scheme... for some reason it was a bit hard to spend much time reading.

Here's a link to an article we wrote that may give you a few ideas!

Color Concepts in Web Design

Keep up the great work!

Loads nice and fast. I'm not sure about the colour scheme - I would tend to steer clear of browns. It might also benefit from a logo and a eye catching title banner at the top. Also a bit of CSS will make the links change colour when the mouse is passed over them - adds a bit of sparkle. The site using frames which makes the Search Engines work harder to find relevent pages - might be better to use tables. It's a good effort though. Good luck with it.

Nick
