I really like your site and your product. Can't let my wife see it or she will buy your first months production. I would definitely consider keeping the site. While doing your research focus on getting into some directories (free) and maybe getting some backlinks. In that way you will have a major headstart for when you go live with shipping product. You can take advantage of some of your sunk research costs that way and save time.
