first off, try double checking your URL that you gave here.. it is mis-spelled... To get a #1 ranking? well, to do that in your industry you will have to have more quality links back to you than the other online florists that are ranked higher. You need more keyword density, and aim for other keywords as well. Nice looking site too... very clean and pretty easy to navigate. Get to work on getting good quality sites to link to you, maybe try doing affiliate sales, having others sell for you, and there for get more links back to you. You have quite a task, as florists were ne of the first to jump on the online sales, I ordered flowers for my Mom for mother's day online back in 1995. That company still exists and they have a huge head start on you for links back to them. a little help I hope zen

OK another quick note, your left hand navigation, put the wording there, into the link. It is excellent key phrases, and will definitely help you out. I am meaning the words next to the pictures on the left. It is hard to tell that the pictures are links, but if you make the text part of the link also, it helps with the useablity of the site, and helps the SE also. zzzzzen |

Paul,
I would suggest that you don't waste your time trying to stuff keywords and keyword phrases into your keyword meta tag...this tag has been so abused and missused in the past that 99% of the major engines just plain ignore it...the original intent with the keyword tag was to establish the meaning of a particular page...and this tag was used for all sorts of spam tactics when the engines used to qualify it.... Instead turn your attention to the relationship between your offpage factors (inbound links and how they "talk" about your site) and your onpage factors (how an individual page is optimized)... This is where you will gain the most toward wanting to become #1 for "online florist"...and you do have a bit of work ahead of you to attain this goal...most likely you should start with 3 and 4 word keyword phrases and bring in those targeted visitors and over time as your site gains more interest and you have established some inbound link relationships, you will be able to focus on the 2 and 1 word phrases... Good luck.. Dennis Trafficlabs.com |

Cheers for all of your advice on this. Any thoughts on maximum density for key phrases on any given page? Also, would you suggest that key phrases should be front loaded towards the beginning of any page? Finally, what would you recommend the maximum number of words for a page to be?
Regards and thanks, Paul |
