is this optimized for?...
http://www.jwsuretybonds.com
Is this first page optimized for the keywords "subdivision bonds"? We had a #4 ranking, but I just completely re-did the content of the page to target the keyword. Any recommendations? |

im not sure on this one, but that title in the center of the page with the diferent coloured letters, search engines my not like it. Or read it properly, due to the many 'font' tags involved. You may want to investigate this.
Id also replace the image at top center, "your busineses name" to be text so it can be read. You've done well, links mixed in with content... good, and keywords chosen as link text.....good, to help with anchor text etc... though Id suggest renameing filenames to contain keywords also, for example instead of 'bonds.html', use 'surety-bonding-solutions.html'. hope this helps |

Great site, well done :-)
You have a little problem with one of your gifs (http://www.jwsuretybonds.com/b_bondinfo.jpg) I'm just getting a red X. Yahoo loves lots of key phrases on the page, more so than google. Your density for 'subdivision bonds' is 3.44%, you don't want to jeopadize your google ranking by pushing that too high but you can safely add that phrase to your page twice more should you wish. This wont affect google but will help you in yahoo. A couple of really minor things too. The line at the top in red, 8% of the population are affected by red-green colour blindness. Can you make that red a bit darker? You have no bold text on your page, keywords/phrases in bold text are given a little bit of an extra boost by google in particular. The sentence at the bottom of your page contains many of your sites main keywords and it would be of a small benefit to the site to make that bold. Take the 'all we do is' out too, possible stop words, and move the ',' to after companies.... Surety bonding, we specialize in performance bonds and subdivision bonds but offer a wide range of surety bonds from many bonding companies, even for clients with bad credit. Just tiny things but they all add up! Good luck! Jane |

Yahoo likes lots of key phrases in the page, Google filters (post-florida) will kick in when you have too many? where is the balance?

If anyone actually knew the answer to that, all those that optimise would be top!
Somewhere between 5-10% is sensible, below 5% you can still be found in google but your not making the most of your on page optimisation for other search engines (like yahoo). There are sites happily listed and doing well in google above 10% BUT some have been booted as you've seen. Where do you draw the line? Not a question I can answer I'm afraid but from experience and what I've seen I wouldn't risk going over 10%. Have you calculated the keyword density of your main competitors ranking higher than you? That is a good indication of what density to aim for in your sector. Good luck Jane |
