the relaxzoolander ten ---
1. you mention 'pagerank' many times on your site...including putting it in your site tagline. this may be one of those words that legally belongs to google and needs a trademark or google credit of somesort at each mention. 2. as follow-up to point 1....i wonder what the legality of using 'pagerank' is in your domain name. if someday....your site is a big time player and gets the attention of google and they focus their legal force at you. 3. i find the first page a little too wordy. not sure about using some guys article about pagerank for your index page....especially using the 'whole' article. i think you need to offer more short...quicker to read...sales points of your site...possibly that link to more expanded explanations of each point somewhere else on the site. 4. i would get rid of every instance of the phrase 'reciprocal links' from your web site. 5. i dont find it useful to click on a index page link labeled 'pagerank' and get whisked off to the index page. 6. site spelling errors: recipricating there [usage] adverage Reciprical twenty five minipulating 7. i think you can squeeze the phrase 'quality links' in here a few more times: "Quality Content. Nine times out of ten, when finding quality content on a page you found it through Quality Links, and search engines know that. Thats why Quality links out to key information could be just as valuable to your site as links pointing in. Willing to put some quality links out? Then you deserve some quality links pointing in right? Well that's what we're all about! We help webmasters find Quality links! But lets not confuse Quality Links with Reciprical Links." 8. why change the background color on the forums from blue to black? 9. [edit per dd note.] i can see a lot of opportunity for abuse with your 'honesty' system there. much time will be spent dealing with reports of abuse. i can imagine people posting the links they need and never coming back....but hopefully not. oh yeah....and.....i am not too keen on the idea of not controlling who is linking to my site. i may not want to be associated with some sites....even if they are related contentually. [yes...thats not a word...but should be.] also....what about the whole pagerank thing....if i give links on nice pr pages and the ones i get are all suckie pr...that would be a bummer. 10. my fear is that the kind of people attracted to such a site will not be 'quality' link people. i hope i am wrong. i know you have put a good amount of time in this project. i am only trying to give you my honest take on it. ...for i believe that will be the most useful to you. good luck. .

zoo, i think you misunderstood the concept he is working on. while it looks like the typical link exchange forum, the concept seems to be a bit different. rather than each person contacting another to exchange links, each person simply lists all of the sites he/she needs links to. so, let's say i list sitea, siteb, and sitec. you come in and see that siteb is within your theme. so you throw up a link to siteb on your site, without ever contacting me. i then see that joeblow has sited that is within one of my site's themes, so i throw sited up on my site, without ever speaking to joeblow. and so it goes.... this is why he stresses the need for honesty. (or at least that's my understanding of it). i think the instructions could be more clearly defined.

cool - I'll be ready to search for relative pages.... So far - I'm the only participating member - that should definetly change very soon.. Definetly a great concept - cause we all benifit from relative content links in and out.... Other services either charge you to join or finding a partner will cost you - either way.. It involves money... ipagerank is all about serious quality links.... Creating information highways. Not spammy reciprical partnerships....

Dazzlin - you hit the nail on the head.... I'm currently trying to figure out the best way to insure an honest atmosphere.... I know the idea of swapping links is just about as old as the dinosaur - but what we are talking about here is a new way for webmasters to aquire links without ever asking for one.... without ever cloging there pages with links out that are only recipricated in.... We all know that inn the long that will not get us anywhere... What we need to do is have quality links to pertinent information... and a trust system.... If people are going to add links to there site anyway - why not do it with a community of webmasters that are dedicated to each other, not directly, but as a whole...

thanks for all the feedback zoo - believe it or not - it hasn't actually taken up much of my time... It kinda was just thrown together on the fly when the idea popped in there... depending on your ideas feedback and user participation - I will address most of your concerns as they are good points...

The point you stressed about the google trademark is an important issue - I have no problem making it very clear that PageRank is a trademark name of google... I doubt I would have much trouble with them as long as I don't offend there entity in any way...????? after all , look at googlerankings.com??? there actual name is in the url....

It's pretty funny - I looked around a bit ----
There are probably thousands and thousands of sites that could be possible trademark issues with google.... |
