Greetings,

The site www.marcopolau.com shows a PR of zero..accepted by dmoz in mid May..I have listed the site on many restaurant directories...I e-mailed Google to ask if there was a penalty and they replied that there is no penalty. Sigh. I am confused. The site validates, is very simple, no funny stuff that I can see. The Google Bot has visited at least once a week starting in mid May. The domain name is new - never used before. I have had several "garbage" sites (under construction and with many errors) that got indexed and a pr added during this time period so I don't think it's just a matter of waiting.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Do you see anything I should change?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Regards,
L. Chris

do you have a robots.txt file in your root directory? this same thing happened to us at first and for some reason adding the robots.txt file fixed it with this included in the file:

User-agent: *
Disallow:

don't know though. your fake sig site is also showing PR0. something's up with that.

also, some pictures of your entrees would be nice and enticing too

you're not using traffic-power are you...

Thank you! I just added one. Such a simple thing to overlook <smacking forehead>.

Not sure what you mean by that..fake sig?...I started a Blogger Blog a few weeks ago to sort my bookmarks in one easy to locate spot and even though it's only about halfway complete - some friends and clients were also finding it useful...did not mean to offend anyone.

Great idea. The food is wonderful. The owners of the restaurant do not have rights to use the photos from their menu without paying a lot of extra money, so I will add some photos when they have some decent quality photos to offer.

No. I stay away from all risky tactics. I will check with the site owners just in case - it would not be the first time someone disregarded my advice and signed up for something like that without notifying me <grin>.

Thanks again for taking the time to look at this.

Regards,
L. Chris
