http://www.ferrariforum.net help with ranking

I was hoping someone could give me some general tips for SEO. I would like to get this site a top 10 for a search on 'ferrari'

The page has a PR of 5

The site is aimed at owners of the car, it has a classified section, tech help, articles, a forum, photos, and more.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Type in ferrari forum without quotes into Google and you are listed as #1 which is pretty good. Optimizing for single keywords is more difficult particularly popular ones and you are listed as #175 for just ferrari. More links to the site will help boost PR which will help. Good luck.

Nick

Nickc is correct develope more backlinks and make sure to use ferrari as your anchor text. Also I would focus on a two word term because

1) More users search with 2 words than 1
2) More targeted audience (big difference between ferrari car and ferrari violin ;))
3) Less competition (like ferrari violin ;))

Hope that helps

You would need more backlinks with the correct on word anchor text, or a whole lot of backlinks with the anchor text "Ferrari forum" or whatever. It there are atleast hundreds of sites that would be natural linkpartners to your site, go request links.
You could start a "textlink to me, and banner link to you program" or whatever. It is always the easiest to build links when your link partners belives they are getting the better part of the deal.

Thanks everyone for the repliese.

The sad thing is I was #29 for "ferrari" before florida. I was proud of that and hoping to get in the top 10 in a few months, then Google does this crazy thing. Oh well.
