http://www.azoreshotels.net
I recently launched www.azoreshotels.net for a family member and am having some difficulty getting ranked on search engines. I am relatively new to Search Engine Optimization and I am learning as much as I can by reading through these and other forums. If anyone has any input on what I might be doing wrong, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks. Alberto |

The onpage optimization isn't too bad. You might want to take any javascripts and put them into external files and just call them, to reduce the amount of useless (seo) code that the search engines have to wade through before they get to the meat of the text. I think your best chance of ranking well is getting backlinks to your site with the keywords you are targetting in the anchor text of those links (preferably from theme-related sites). Once you start building your themed, keyword-rich backlinks, I think you'll start to see an improvement in your rankings.

Thanks for taking the time to review.
I have been reading more and more about these back links and am just astounded that its all about the links these days. Doesn't seem right, but I don't write the rules. I think I will also reconfigure some of the content adding Island specific content and pages. People say content is king. So much to learn... |
