I would appreciate a critique on the Artisan Design Studio website from anyone who has the time. The purpose of the website is to provide full-service graphic design work via the Internet with an emphasis on creating integrated marketing communication materials.

The site has been up for about three months. Anything constructive is welcome regarding design, layout, functionality, navigability or SEO.

Your home page has way too much text. It makes me want to go away.

Dumb the Google ads there is enough competition in this market without placing it on your own website. Makes it look like you are not serous.

And what is this

Integrated marketing communication materials

Hope you did not use it on your site. If that is your slogan, well change it.

Consider Keeping your home page to one screen.

Thanks for taking the time to to critique my site. You made some good points that I really already knew, but I kept adding that text so the robots would visit. I have actually redesigned the entire site and have put your suggestions in place. I am working to get the home page completely above the fold.

My concern now is load time. If anyone with dial-ups can check it, that would be great.

How about "Marketing Materials"?

It took about 20 seconds on my connection. I know there are sites that you can go to that you put your URL in and it tells you how long to load with different connections. I'm sure someone will provide a link.

According to this site the page will load in 19.15 sec on a 56K modem, so if you tested this on a 56K modem it seems to be pretty accurate.
