How much to optimize a textbook-selling website?
I have a friend running his site http://oscarbook.com selling textbooks online. The site is not optimized at all. He asks me how much it will be to get that done so he can know if he affords it. Any idea?

The site has been made with frames and so I would personally suggest a full re-design. If you are going to optimise the existing site you will need to make use of the no-frames tag and many other off page criteria to get good rankings. As to the price, well I usually think of not how much the customer can afford but what it is worth to them. Price is very difficult to judge as you are not providing a tangible product and it takes time to see results. I would first of all ask if they can afford a site re-design not done in frames.
