How much is to much?
Hi my name is kevin:
I have been here on these forums for the past month or so, and have learned a great deal from you all! My entire Site is cgi,and so i've decided to build an index htm page, and static subpages that link to the cgi pages... So I have to build about 20 static pages.Im trying to optimize it for the engines and would like some feedback on my homepage. Would I rank well? Is there to much keywords? Am I spamming in anyway? Is there something else I should do or add? I have heard that to much text betwen the <body></body> is bad?. I put in <h3> tags also alt tags and <a title="" tags If i'm on the right track, and I should'nt do anything else to my home. Then I would know i'm on the right track, and finish all my subpages the same way. My url is in my profile: Thank you all in advance. Kevin: |

The amount of text on the page required to best fit each search engine varies. Hard rules are that your never want a page of over 100K. The typical key numbers for words on a page is 200, 600, and 800. Ideally you want the number of words to fall around one of those #s, depending on which engine you are optimizing for.
As far as your home page goes, it still might need a little more focus as it is hard to list well for any single word. The list of products may also be better placed somewhere other than the top of the page as it does not read well to the human eye. Your title has "from around the world" at the end of it. I would chop this off Search Marketing Info |
