How can I improve SEO for this minimalist website?
Hello,
I love clean, minimalist designs. One of my websites - www.dole.ie - is quite minimalist. I'd like to start some SEO on this website. Without destroying the basic design, can you give me any recommendations? Thank you |

Well, firstly you need to put in your targeted keyword/s in your title. You lack textual content on your homepage, so it would be better if you could add some textual content on the homepage. Make unique titles and description for each page and get links from relevant sites. Mostly your site is ok. The only thing worrying me is the boiler plated text on the top of every page, it might lead you to supplemental index as there is very little content on your pages. |

Hmmm job site...i have worked in this industry for 2 years n still in it.
Let me tell you this is a very competitive industry and good search engine placements can be very tough. The key to a good spot is off-page optimization as well as on-page optimization.basically the rules of the game remain the same. Here are some basic steps that will get you rolling 1. Good title and description tags ( description tags are ignored but SE's but they are visible to the user,a well written description tag can arouse user interest to click on your website link). No need to say anything about the power of the title tag. 2. Get lots n lots of inbound links, thats the most potent weapon in your arsenal.Since yours is a job site getting links from .edu and .gov domains would be relatively easy.....don't Email them first...call them and then email them.Personal touch works magic....trust me. 3. If you have job openings listed on your site ,make a RSS feed and submit it to vertical job boards like indeed, simplyhired, yahoo jobs, gladoo etc etc 4. Keep on adding fresh content to the website.google loves it. 5.Use proper Anchor texts.(This is very important) 6. Do a online press release. Rest all the things are standard as in any other SEO job. BTW i have added my site under the job websites category. Last edited by subzero27 : May 23rd, 2007 at 08:36 AM. |
