Point Me In The Right Direction

Ok - This site needs a lot of help, and it's my Dad's company, and I want to help him out.

The company is fantastic, it does SO much more than the competition for top keyword placement. People can look up their nearest photo restoration expert, not just mail their photos off to some stranger online. You can type in your zip code and find the nearest partner.

But the site needs massive help. Until today, we hadn't done any links page, so we were only able to get non-reciprocal type links. Our 45 links to us at this point were not created through reciprocals. My goal is to be in the top 3 by the end of August. The #1 position has 229 links to it. The #2 position has 67 links to them. The #3 position has 91 links to them.

We have superior content, but it's in images. It's graphics files. Alt Tags are difficult because every page is images, but we'll likely do alt tags anyways. We're also considering re-writing the actual text that is available so that it speaks to our keyword better.

We're #1 in our industry, but we want to get to #1.

What are your suggestions for keyword density, alt tags, that kind of thing?

Thank you,
Austin

It looks very nice and professional. I think the fact that the site is all images shouldn't hurt the site that much. Text links are KING. I see that you have 30 some odd text links. It's a good start. With more high PR pages with textlinks that have your keywords in them, you should do fine. Maybe even consider buying high PR site's text links. In my experience, it helps a lot.

By text links do you mean text links from other sites pointing to us that aren't banners?

How would I go about purchasing links from high PR things under my search terms, just email them or is there a special way to go about it?

The number one people under my keywords "Photo Restoration" have links to them from baby furniture stores and wedding cake companies. I thought that Google only took into account relevant links?

My next move, pending your continued help, is to continue to build as many relevant (photo) related links as possible, and then put alt tags over many of our site images, focussing around our keywords.

I don't want Google to think bad things by my KW density being too high, so I'll keep it less than 20% on my alt tags? There's a lot of content there, but not very much of it is currently indexable to google.

Thanks for your willingness to post!

Also, let me point this out:

We have many, many pages of content, but it is hard to tell. See, if you click on some of those links, they have some link trails that are pretty long, then add in "Are you a retailer" and all those links, and then from there, "Are you a photographer".

My question is: I read somewhere that the # of pages on your site plays into ranking. I don't want to be penalized for our efforts to provide a quality site to our clients. I've just gone through most of the pages and made suggestions for some slight editing to actually INCLUDE our keywords. Does having so many pages penalize us?

Austin
