Help Please
Hi,
I am brand new to this forum, and this is my first post. I would really appreciate any help anyone has to offer. Please have a look at it: http://las-vegas-vacations-guide.us As you can see, each page is optimized for a different keyword phrase. The target keyword phrase for each page is that pages title. The keyword phrase also appears in an h1, an h2, an h3, and several times in the body copy, and in the file name. My reciprocal links page can be found here: http://las-vegas-vacations-guide.us/links.shtml I have verified that each of these pages links back to me. To make this easier, I have put up a script which also shows the recips. It can be found here: http://las-vegas-vacations-guide.us/verifylinks.pl?fn=links.psv All of the pages with the reciprocal links have a PR > 0. Further, I have an incoming link from Yahoo. Despite all this, a google search for link:las-vegas-vacations-guide.us yields 0 results. Not even the link from Yahoo or even my internal links! How can this be? Further, when searching for my primary keyphrase, "las vegas vacations" (without quotes), the first 2 results don't even contain the phrase. To add insult to injury, the number 2 result is just a notice that the domain is for sale! And, to top it all off, the number 3 result only appears to have 24 incoming links, and lower keyword density than mine. So, my question is, obviously what am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike. |

how long has the site been live?
hotbot has 7 links to you, altavista has 3. if all those links back to you are above PR4 thant you will start to get ranked. if not, drop them and get quality links back to you, nothing under a PR4, and you will move up.. zen

Hi Zen,
I've been live since the middle of October. Most of the links to me, thoug, are from early February. I was really hoping to move up this past Google-dance. Aand it was actually the disappointment from my failure to do so that caused me to post my original message. When I started my link exchange campaign, I decided to reject links only from PR 0 pages, and I have done so meticulously. Should I really raise my threshhold to 4? Also, I realize hotbot and AV have found some of my links, but does anyone have any idea why Google hasn't? Not even my internal links, or my Yahoo link (which, BTW, has existed since mid-November)? Is this common? Thanks, Mike. |

I just had a quick look on your home page and it may be that you are being "accused" of spamming
Las Vegas at a quick look is almost in every line - go look at your source code It is a long time down the page before you get to relevant text!

Hi Foxyweb,
Quote:
I had thought of that. Or, more specifically, I thought I might have overdone the keywords. However, if a page is suspected of keyword spam, doesn't its PR automatically jump to 0? My PR appears to be around 3 (I don't really know how people get exact numbers for that, but the PR bar on my Google toolbar appears to be about 1/3 full). If that's not the case, I'll try taking out some keywords. Otherwise, I'm back where I started. Any further thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Mike. |
