Google problems early, sigh

Hi everyone

I recently discovered the forums. Thanks for the great tips everyone! I'm new at SEO, but it's a really interesting subject which I am prepared to spend a lot of time on.

I am the site admin. of several community sites for the online game EverQuest 2.
I started off by making a forum, www.eq2priests.com, which rapidly got over 600 members registered.

This weekend I took the next step by creating a larger site with information on game subjects,
www.eq2i.com , which later on will offer premium service for a monthly price.

It is in my interest to gain high ranks, especially with Google, at an early stage in order to promote
myself above the competitors.

Problem A: www.EQ2Priests.com is not "liked" by Google. Spite the fact that several sites link to it
(which is shown when searching for EQ2Priests on Google, or "EverQuest 2 Priest", a key-phrase which
is repeated often on the site), the site itself does not rank at all.

Problem B: I also registered a few sites for driving traffic. www.everquest2fighter.com
www.everquest2priest.com
www.everquest2scout.com
www.everquest2mage.com
www.everquest2spells.com
www.everquest2maps.com

I'm sure you can see from the sites that they merely drive traffic to www.eq2i.com .
How can I improve the content of those "dummy" sites in order to attract Google searchers to them?
How can I use my other sites to promote them? Will I gain anything by having links to the dummy sites
on EQ2I.com (which is popular) and EQ2Priests.com (which is popular)?

I hope some of you can help me a bit out here, Problem A is my largest concern.

Sincerely
Andreas Brekken

It looks like it's very new (to google). Is the site - or are the links pointing to it - put up very recently? A google search for site:eq2priests.com only renders 3 or so pages. This means it is not spidered/picked up by googlebot regularly. To get that, you need LOTS MORE links, at least until a google search for link:www.eq2priests.com gives you any results.
And then some more links to start getting a higher ranking for your keywords. Why don't you submit to a couple of directories (people offering links in free directories visit this forum daily ) to get you a nice collection of quick and easy backlinks? There's a nice list on strongestlinks.com/directories.php for example. Try to get your major keywords into the anchor text (=your backlinks' clickable text).

And oh yeah: most of this, and more, can be found in the SEO FAQ section
