Google conversions vs serps positions
Hmm,
Ok guys i need some advice, we are getting lots of visitors to our site from google but very little in the way of conversion. The way i see it either - google volume in financial services converts only in the top 3-5 positions (we are usually in 5-7 on most of our larger search terms). Comments please ! Or we have provided too much in the way of text for the clients to read and have diverted them from our personal goal of getting clients to apply for the various products. Has anyone got any experiance regarding either of the two possibilites mentioned ? Cheers, BB

Page load times and complicating the users experiance
Dazlin did you mean-
The home page ? The loans product page ? Or a quotation form page ?? Incidentally we have moved all the text down on the loans page as an experiment to try and remove the solid text below the crease to allow the user to focus more heavily upon getting a quote for the relevant product. Can you have a look at the mortgages page in relation to the loans page for me- do you think this maybe a factor ? Also we are frantically working on speeding up the page load times. Thanx everso much Dazzlin. You comments have been noted Cheers, BB |

The home page was all I tried to open. (Firefox blocked some popup, so dont know what page that was). If I had been just a normal user, I would never have waited for the page to load.

I noticed the same thing. Home page took over a minute to load. It is a UK site and I am connecting from the US, which might have something to do with the delay, but I am usually able to connect to UK sites fairly quickly.

You have plenty of traffic (5,000 uniques a day?)
1.You need to develop a logo. 2.You need an affiliate based shopping cart to benifit your referers. (I can refer you to a few) 3.You need to target your customer better.(uk or usa?) 3a. If you do have usa customers then you should host it here. 4.You need a faster loading site. 5.You need Less text on your main page(its too busy)but has nothing to do with seo or page loading. 6. You need to get your links page off your main menu (that's sending too many customers away) 7. It's a tuff market selling insurance over the net. Maybe you should turn your site into a traffic generating site by selling links and placing adsense? 8. I commend you on asking for help at such a late stage in the game!

also.... I would turn your other site www.cheap-term-life-insurance-quotes.co.uk
into a website into a satisfied customer insurance website that is purely refering customers to your main site or visa-versa. Customer like to see that there are many other satisfied customers. Thus all the TV comercials saying 97% customer satisfaction rating and all that. I would also start a forum (of course a full seo forum) like this one. ( I can help with that) Who better to refer a customer to you THAN YOU, since you have both top spots in google! |
