Don't Be Gentle - Need The Truth!
Hello Everyone,
First, I'd Like to say that this is a GREAT forum with vast amounts of knowledge. Thanks to ALL of you for your sharing and patients. My site is @ http://www.computerpartsnow.com. I have just began the optimization process and have (1) listed with DMOZ (2) used titles and METAtitles identically throughout the site. This site has listings currently on google & yahoo since prior to the new launch it was a Yahoo Store. It is rated PR2 in most cases but all my competition is PR5-6. I would really like to get my SEO up to that standard. Keywords I would like to concentrate on are: Cisco Memory (481,000) Cisco Flash Memory (181,000) Cisco DRAM Memory (38,400) Cisco Router Memory (156,000) Cisco GBIC (27,300) Cisco Power Supplies (110,000) These are google returns above. One question I have is about my pages being dynamic (without session id though) and how that will affect the bots. Another is about the stop text limit for METAkeywords, how much is it? I do plan to assign ALT's to all images and have put robot.txt wide open in root. Please review and let me know how i could improve my chances for the next dance. Oh, does linking outside need to be in the same DMOZ or is it just the PR of the linked site that counts? Please note that at this url http://www.computerpartsnow.com/Pro...=MEM-1000-16MD= I have put some keywords pertaining to this product, I would like to know if the formatting is ok for google and others or if I should phrase it differently. About Us Page in development.

Oh, Does Google pull it's category listing from DMOZ or do we have to also submit to them?
If so, could someone provide a link for inclusion. |

The first thing I would so is put your CSS in an external file..remember the robots have to read through all that before getting to your content.
I know that the Meta tags aren't very useful but it might help to put actual "keywords" in the tag specified for them instead of repeating the description. As for how many I try not to go over 20 words- but don't know what others do. Hope this little tidbit helps..sorry I couldn't help more GoodLuck
