Dang I Need Help! Have I Targeted Right?

I have been lurking in the background for quite some time trying to learn everything I can! I finally have the courage to post, so am hoping for some help!

For some reason it's sooooooo easy for me to see what needs to be done on other people's sites, but on my own site I can't seem to see the forest for the trees!

I know that web design is highly competitive so I am looking for a special niche (spelling?)

If someone would be kind enough to take a look and give me ANY advice at all... especially looking for what key words or phrases would be best for me to be keying in on... like I said... can't seem to see the forest for the trees right now!

Thanks a bunch in advance for any and all advice!

I think from a business standpoint you need to really define who your market is. What are you best at? What special strenghts do you have? You can't be all things for everyone--all though it's tempting to try, it's actually better and easier to get business (for example) if you're a PHPNuke/community site expert rather than "affordable sites for everyone".

It's better because you can charge more and because you can clearly state your unique selling proposition--and have a chance at being one of the best. It also makes it easier to target and find customers.

Regarding the site:

I'd spend some time on wordtracker.com looking at what your keywords should be. Then I'd focus different pages on different keywords (2-3 related on each page). It seems like you're trying to hit too many keywords/ideas on the main page, thus there's not much chance for any of them.

While there, I'd look at the smaller niches and alternative spellings (eg "web page design company" versus "website design"). Especially those searches that could refer to your unique selling proposition niche that we talked about!

Your title includes too much. For instance, "Ghost-n-cricket" doesn't need to be there. People searching for that will find you. Only put the key items in there that people use while searching for someone in your narrow niche. Also, Mississippi was cut off -- the title was too long. and if you look at wordtracker, no one searches for "web design mississippi" and I don't know how much it would come up in other relevant searches. You have to be fanatical about defining your niche and exploiting your pages to showcase it.

On the backlinks, you'll want them to have your niche keywords as the linking text. so the link would be "Web design" rather than your name.

That'll give you lots to do ...

A quick check and here you go:

1 - Get yourself a reliable Host - ipowerweb.com US$ 95.40 including a domain name a year!

2 - Make most of the css to avoid this (copied from yourhome page -
<font color="#481010" size="6"> <br>
</font><font color="#481010"><br>
</font></b>)
3 - Read all this post, http://www.seochat.com/viewtopic.php?t=1150 and apply all.

4 - Use less graphichs, especialy on the menu links, text links are better and you can spice them up with some css touches.

I gurantee, you will have better results in the following 12 weeks.
