Could you kind folks please review our web site.

Hi folks. Heather and I (Chris) have built a new site. ( our 1st try) and is aimed at people who would like to start their own home based business. We are not having much luck being indexed and listed by the major S/engines. Our 1st page (home) was built and submitted on the 31/1/03 Can you help us? by reviewing our web site.

PS: A second question. Our domain name is a combination of 2 keyword phrases. Do you folks think it is spam :-(

ryaco,

As a start, I would replace the navigation with text links or else add alt descriptions to each link. Your logo should also have an ALT tag. Your main phrase "Start a home based business and make money at home easily" could be changed to a H1 tag.

Hi

Have a look at the number of lines of information for the search engines before you get to the text that is relevant - it is almost half your total page - and it is not necessary

Do as googol says get rid of your java and put in simple text links or alts but more importantly get some keyword text in right at the top and link it [even down the page] in your case two links.

Also to tget yourself indexed you will need good backlinks. You must start a link exchange campaign to get people to link ot you. That is the best and fastest way to get into google

A few more to do:

1 - Spell check your content so you don't have this typo on the site map page -Free artcles to use.-

2 - Redesign your site map page as the name says.

3 - It won't hurt to have all the links like the site map page at the bottom of each page. This way your site can be browsed easier by the visitors and robots. Use them as text links with keywords in them.

4 - Make the most of CSS to have a cleaner and shorter code.

5 - Again with the CSS you can have similar text efects as you use in your images.

I do seem to recall reviewing this site before under another members username. I don't see any real changes either. You may get better results by reading a bit - to appreciate what members are telling you.

In the end - it is your website, if you don't learn so you can appreciate the advice provided, and/or cannot afford to hire a professional to take on this responsibility - I don't see how reviewing will help.

Thank you folks for your reviews and comments, will try to do them during the week. Fathom you have reviewed our site before. Remember mate, we are newbies to site building and don't always understand the terminolgy used by the more experienced and this is the reason why action may not have been undertaken.
