Can someone review my site?

(Sorry I posted this in the wrong forum earlier)

This is my first dance. My website was online, but not fully complete when the last dance happened, but I know my pages contained my keywords. I'm nowhere to be found in the first 500 for my keywords, scrapbooking, scrapbooking supplies, scrapbook.

Could someone help me out & maybe give me some pointers on optimization. Are there any good books out there that I should read? Does it take a few months to see results?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

First I think you should notice that the terms you mentioned are competitive, although not extremely so.

The main reason why you aren't ranked high is you have PR of 0. You must get some links to your site. Try submitting everywhere to crafts sites, directories, etc. I'm thinking there should be many. That should get you to 4 at least as all one of my sites has is some directory listings and it has pr 4.

Also adding some content to your site would help a lot too.

What do you mean by content? Do you mean text descriptions on my site?

If you have 30-40 good links (pr4+...) then you should be good to go for now. Keep getting more.

By content I mean some articles about scrapbooking
Telling people how to make one
Tips
Best items to buy
Where are things cheapest
etc.

Show the visitors you know what you are talking about and you become more credible which means more customers/sales. If you have enough info people will even bookmark your site and use it as a reference as they continue to scrapbook.

content content content... stop worrying about PR and get good content so that people come back. and search engines have a good meal at yur site... content content content!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Biology major here, not a writer by any stretch. Guess I better brush up on my writing skills ;)

Cant agree more - Content is King! Remember google for example indexes the whole of your site - META Tags - keywords and descriptions are of little use. Search terms are matched against the content of ure site. If your site is already listed by google try searching for long strings of text from ure site in quotations - it should give you an idea . . . .

(sorry for using a competitor ;)) try searching google for

begin cut ---->"Black and Brown books include 40 black sheets and a black spiral" <---- end cut
its an extreme example - tailor content to match search phrases - "scrapbook ideas for presents" etc
