Google Analytics is my personal favourite... It shows you detailed information on what, where and how visitors view and get to your site.

Whats there to be confused about? I have never used it for a blog though but i dont think the process differs for it. When you'll set up a google analytics account, you will get a code snippet generated. Insert that code just before the </body> tag of the pages you want to keep an eye on. After some time, you'll start getting reports when you log into your account. As simple as that!!! |

you can paste the google analytics tracking code just above the closing body tag</body> or you can paste in between <title> and </title> . It is a simple thing..if you want to know setting up this analytics in to your site please go through this link : http://www.google.com/adwords/learningcenter/text/29523.html

Do your keyword research first. Target traffic properly (related to your niched) or it gets wasted. No one in the internet will like a high traffic but turns out to be useless. Did you do it already?

First post, hey everyone!
I use a combination of Google Analytics and Statcounter(.com) Analytics is great for keeping large logs of site statistics, but I find that Statcounter is better at tracking incoming searches and referring links. Statcounter offers a free service that is good enough for SEOs that check their logs multiple times per day. For example, Analytics will show referring sites, but only for the domain... of course you can click on it to find the exact referring page, but still there are times where Google won't tell you exactly what page they were on (for instance, if there are PHP URLs). Statcounter will give you the user's complete log from what site/search they used to get to yours and follow them throughout their visit until they leave. You can also label IP addresses for re-occurring users! Hope this helps! |
