Can you tell me the number of people also bookmarkign the pages that you submitted? I'm interested to see the ranking effect vs. the number of "diggs" or "bookmarked".

Unforuntately, I did not document my exact ranks but I have seen improvement.

It takes me about 100 seconds to tag on delicious, digg, add to simpy, blink it, bluedot it, stumble upon it and add to nowpublic.

It is worth my time for sure.

Very Intresting thread

I bookmarked 3 sites fo mine on deliciouc about 3 weeks ago and today when I ran my SEO Elite to check my rankings was surprised to see some big jumps for some of the keywords on the home pages.

So I am going to give this a bit of a go and see what happens.

Quick question though for the keyword you are targeting do you inlcude it in your title and tag section???

Cheers

I guess it would also depend entirly what kind of niche you have. Mine is very competitive. I don't really pay much attention to SBM anymore as I found that half of the garbage that is up there is juts that garbage and people vote them up to popularity.

There are three that I stick to netscape, technorati and delicous. I find that those three are better in bringing traffic than the others. Mind you any traffic is good but when they don't convert I would rather spend my time on those ones.

Good Luck to all of you who are able to get this to work for you long term!

Great Discussion going on guys !

If you run a blog or a site which gets updated frequently then add those "Add-To-Bookmark" buttons that Fathom has been talking about. They are really helpful and can leverage your efforts in bookmarking your site.

If you've great content and update it regularly with equally good stuff then others will bookmark your site and pages as well.

If after adding your pages to 4-5 SBM's you see such significant jumps, guess how much you will gain (both in terms of rank and traffic ) if 1000 other people bookmark your site in another 10 - 20 SBMs.

Special thanks to Fathom for sparing time to work on the "add-to-bookmark" codes

Hey Friend, that's really cool . I will definitely try with my site to see how it goes

Good stuff,

Hardly any of my forum pages ever rank in google. Mostly the all go into supplemental. Last night I submitted a new topic from my forum to digg with some anchor text (Info about the page) with some words that actually dont even appear in the topic.

Today Hey presto. Did a search for the keyword not even in the topic and up comes my page.

How long will this last ?

You already started a thread regarding this... you also got answers. No need to hi-jack this thread for the same purpose...

I have also seen variations in SERPS when using social bookmarking for building link popularity. I would recommend, give it a try....

Is it best to social bookmark a few pages from a single site in the same bookmark site or will this dilute the links (by this I mean make the link juice spread across the multiple links). Would 1 link per site be better?

I too have noticed jumps within 4-5 days, not for my major KW's, but for my secondary KW's, even thought I Used mainly my Major KW in the titles.
