Many directories deep versus one - Help test
Hey from a question on my forum I had an idea... the question was are the following treated the same:
www.mydomain.com/product/1234/processor or www.mydomain.com/product/1234/processor.html From just creating sites I have seen the file version perform better over a folder. My question for testing is would Google, MSN and Yahoo treat the following the same: www.mydomain.com/product/processor.html or www.mydomain.com/product/1234/filefolder/keywords/pathway/processor.html Both end in a file instead of a directory however the second example has 5 directories over the first example having only one. Has anyway tested this? If not anyone interested in trying it out? Any ideas on how to accurately test it?

If we can find a way to test... I'd love to help and find out!

Visio, thats simply a great idea to test this. What I feel you must keep this two pages in same click away distance from home page. Like if the first page is one click away from Home Page then the second one should also be one click away from home page. I feel in this way the test can be done accurately. Right now I don't have any option to test this one. |
