KW's in URL or DOMAIN - DOES IT HELP IN SERP's?

Value of Keywords in the domain and/or URL.

Result: Having Keywords in the domain or in the URL, WILL rank you higher than an identical site without the KW's in the URL or domain with identical links.

Test: Used keyword "Furry Cheese Balls"

I setup two blogs (i would have used domains buy didn't want to waste the $13.00, I'm kinda broke at the moment all my money is invested)

Blog #1 : http://www.Xanga.com/FurryCheeseBalls
Blog #2 : http://www.Xanga.com/SEOCHATTEST

Both sites have identical content and links.

Search Yahoo for "Furry Cheese Balls"

Note First Two Results.

I am sure these results will also appear the same in Google within a matter of days, I may add one of my higher PR links to both of them so they indexed a little faster.

SO END RESULT IS HAVING A KW IN A DOMAIN and/or URL WILL RANK YOU HIGHER THAN A MIRROR SITE WITHOUT THEM.

If you want to run a valid test you need to apply the same rules to both pages...

From what I can see - all links aimed at the "furry cheese balls" url use that exact phrase (or the individual words) as anchor text, whereas only some links to "seochattest" have those words in them. In addition - on the "fcb" page you have loads of links to "self" using those words as anchors... on the "sct" page you have the same words used as anchors aimed at the other page and one link using the phrase aimed at "self".

If that's right then the test isn't a valid one and the resultas are no suprise at all - they simply "prove" the value of anchor text in incoming links.

If I'm missing something be sure to let me know

I may have just cut and paste, I'll check to see if i did that. Sorry for the confusion, When I get some time I'll assure all links will be the same with the same anchor texts, I did this in like 20 mins, so I'm not surprised if you are right Sorry I'll look into it as soon as possible.

If you find out that keywords in the url path (not the domain) are relevant, I'd be quite surprised and glad to know that. Please do a thorough experiment though and if possible, don't use more than one backlink to the pages.
Thanks to ClickyB for looking into it and thanks to MadisonSEO for sharing his work!

Keywords in the domain definitely help. I'd like to see if keywords in the directory and/or filename help. Keep us updated.
