AJAX Linking Test - SEO Effectiveness
Hi
With the on set of WEB 2.0 technologies the face of web development is changing. Many web sites are now using AJAX for navigation. Whilst this can make some really slick applications it does pose a problem for SEO's. My approach to dealing with this is to create a sub indexable layer and some static hyperlinks to make sure sites are easily crawled by search engine spiders. I have created a test to determine how effective, if at all, AJAX links are with respect to SEO. I have created a page that uses an AJAX link that contains a nonsensical search term. Please do not mention this search term anywhere otherwise it might effect the results of this test. Please help this test by linking to the test page with the following code Code:
<a href="http://www.theseofiles.co.uk/test/ajax/ajax-test-1.html">AJAX SEO Linking Test</a> AJAX SEO Linking Test Your help is appreciated.

A quick update
And not suprisingly, the page has been indexed but all of the non hyperlink "linked" content - eg AJAX link and the other things I tried have not been indexed. I am considering looking at the bennefit of noscript versions of a site along with an AJAX orientated site. I have one live site which I am testing this on right now. I am still determined to find a way to make an AJAX based site SEO friendly! |
