Question SEO pagerank vs. Google pagerank values
Hi,

Why is there a difference between SEO's pagerank values
(as returned by its PROG search script) and Google's pagerank values
(as displayed by the Google toolbar)?

There is a difference between real pagerank, calculated and live updated, internally by google, and the one shown to the users, now any months old, and anyway rounded a lot.

Does anybody know if PRsearch by SEOChat uses real toolbar PR? PR Weaver claims to do just that. In the light of things (new PR calc method) that would be nice to know.

I dont think so.... but does it really matter, it gives better results this way (faster, without MS IE).... and as said in another discussion, GG changed algorithm, but it will be easy to update the other tools.

The PR is real from the toolbar: it is taken from XML file.

wich is cached :-? but apparently keeps fairly fresh.

I wrote my one PR checker and its dead on with my Google toolbar, except during a google update when I got a decimal

Do a google search (of course) on "navclient-auto" You'll find several different aproaches on writing your own PR checker, and info on how the PR portion of the toolbar behaves.
