Parsing script?

Someone suggested I need a parsing script. Not only do I not know where to get one, I'm not even very clear on what it is.

I have a Lyris database in text format that is 20mb in size. Sprinkled throughout it are 10's of thousands of names and emails. I need to get the names and addresses out of the text and in the proper order to load onto a new Lyris host. It wants email <space> name <line break> for each one.

Anybody know of an appropriate tool?
