Arrow LinkMachine Good or Evil?

Google and LinkMachine good or bad? I got a copy of LinkMachine, installed it and now it seems that I'm getting a lot of unrelated link backs to my page. Whats the best method of getting link backs, etc.? Software wise that is.
Thanks Dan

First don't set it up to auto accept links exchanges. You'll get a lot a junk that way. Review each link request and make sure that it's not banned from google and that it's in the cache.

PS if you get a lot of junk you can filter out new sites by keywords. I filter any site that has casino or other unwanted type link partners.

How can I tell if they are banned from Google and to find out if it's in the cache? Thanks

Here is a link to find out how sites are banned in Google.
http://forums.seochat.com/google-optimization-7/is-banned-by-google-tool-49876.html

You can tell if a site is in the Google cache by either installing the Google tool bar and then visit the page that your link will be on. The tool bar will have a button to click that will show whether or not the page is cache. Or you can enter cache:www.example.com/linkpage.htm directly into the Google search.

Is it a good idea to use this program if you can get it to work for you correctly? Or does google frown on this kinda stuff
