Will anyone recommend a SEO COMPANY? (with examples of happy clients)
I have a client that is looking for a reputable SEO firm. He has a highly competitive keyword phrase (Harley Davidson part) and wants to place in Google’s top ten for the phrase. He is very willing to pay a reasonable fee but wants results not hype. Any recommendations for a firm that can/has produce at this level of SEO?

it was a joke.. they historically had held the #1 spot for 'seo' and 'search engine optimization' until they recently got banned....
they do however show a PR7 to me .. |

WhiteGyr - Sadly, the companies that I recommend are almost always full and not accepting new clients. I would send you in the direction of SEO-guy.com, rustybrick.com (they do webdev & SEO), and the resource that lists and peer reviewed SEO firms - seolist.com
I might also give a try with BruceClay.com and smart-interactive.co.uk, but you should be prepared to pay well, as these are the top of the industry firms. Good luck! |

Randfish!
I would recommend SEO Guy as well. Can't point you to any happy clients but a few of his clients are my competition and SEO Guy is VERY good imho. I have no doubt his company would be happy to provide you with references.

The good ones are either too busy and charge big bucks or they are super affiliates as they can make more money and don't have to deal with the client bs.
Bring your SEO in-house and do it yourself it the best way to go. |

This is good advice but sometimes not the best option for many companies as they can not hire a in-house SEO as their budget will not allow it. Many times the role of a marketing coordinator will fill this position and they often seek out the advice of an expert SEO for decision making. I reccomend highly for companies who are seeking direction to hire an SEO to help power their efforts. There are many things an search marketing professional can tell you that you would not normally deduct. Another good advice point is to get advice in writing, as it will translate to the application of changes more efficently then someone who just raddles on about what they things you should do. Ask for a transcript, and develop a question outline before you contact an SEO. Consider whether you need a full service SEO (to do everything themselves for you) or someone just to tell you what to do verbally.

The difficulty is that the really GOOD SEO pros do it for themselves, i.e. why should they make big money for others when they can do it for themselves. Or, if the are really GOOD, they really charge well beyond what the individual or small company can fund (it takes time and more time = $$$$). Or, they individually are really good, but assign a novice to do your work because they just have too much business to do it all themselves.
So that no SEO is insulted... all the other SEOs you can contract with are the future really GOOD SEO pros. They just need a little more practice.

Does your client have a staff member that can dedicate to learning? If so - it's about a 3 month learning curve [but they can generate the success as they go]... and then they need not worry about hype. Since I do this with "stay-at-home-moms" who are not web savvy the only real requirement is someone 'loyal' to the client.

First Off - I agree with Rand on this. Most good seo companies have full schedules and are hired through word of mouth. Some of the companies he did mention are quality. Before I started doing SEO for myself I emailed a couple of those and had a good feeling after chatting.

I really would be careful trying to do it yourself. SEO firms know what they are doing and also try to keep up on what Google is up to. You can always try and do it yourself, however, i wouldnt expect the kind of results that you will see if you were to have it professionally done. I know it can be really hard to get into a big firm becuase they are so busy, but try smaller ones. SEOinc was good, but we see where that got them. Try one thats also located in San Diego call SearchFit. A friend of mine went through them and his site has done great.

To add to the above post, my friend owns a site that sells printer and printer parts. His site was optimized for the word "PRINTERS" and comes up #1 in Google. I would say that the SearchFit guys know what they are doing.

Tis strange that you registered and posted here under different usernames like: JessicaSearchFI Which doesn't help your credibility or the company's credibility for that matter. Can you explain this - and your likely affiliation. If not: I would recommend members to stay clear of this company unless this can be cleared us. |
