Wiki Links

Hi

I recently added a link to a site on wikipedia which was a relevant and useful resource.

This got me thinking, why not use them on relevant sites I have? If they fit and are ethical surely there is nothing wrong with this.

I would assume that wikipedia is an authority site as it has lots of links to it and has a page all about a specific subject. Its a .org domain.

I checked the source and the link that it gives is a static text link without a nofollow attribute so its good for SEO.

What do you think about using wikipedia for links?

I did this, my link remained for 1 week before it was unedited from the page. I dont fully understand why, the site was 150% relevent and there was nothing on it that was offered up from links out of Wiki already, it was unique, super relevant, and looks Sh*t hot too.

I think it would be more advantageous not only for SEO/Rank reasons but for traffic reasons to boot, wiki is a highly visited site.

I wish you better luck getting and staying in there than I

I did wonder how long it would stay there.

I will let you know how long my links stays live for.

I guess there is virtualy no bennefit SEO wise (and traffic aside) to having a link that is only up for 1 week even from a good site like that.

Hopefully mine stays up for a while.
