Question Where can you find good SEO people?

I'm the marketing director at my company and have been using one SEO company after another. Each one fails to live up to promises and does a poor job of communicating with our company. My question is does anyone know anybody that would do SEO for our company? You people seem to know a lot about SEO which is why I think hiring a dedicated person to work on optimizing our site is the way to go. The problem is where do you find them? I've advertised for the position and received resumes from IT people with no SEO experience. Also what are your thougths on SEO firms? Any good SEO firm worth the money?

Stay away from "Large Corporate Firms" that promise unrealistic goals and results. They are mostly money driven and use old outdated technologies. The best people you can find to get you the results you require is right here in this forum. Hire a small company or an educated independant contractor. Stay away from things like Elance as you'll get alot of spammy people there unless you pay top dollar and don't go for the bargin bin prices.

Why don't you post your URL and keywords and some of us in the forums can give you some advice and specify your options a little clearer.

Thumbs up Url

Our URL is www.cdrom2go.com. We've managed to obtain a couple good rankings on Yahoo and MSN but on Google we've got very little. Key words: cd duplication, dvd duplication, cdr, dvd r, cd duplicator, dvd duplicator, cd printer, dvd printer, cd sleeves, dvd cases, cd printer, dvd printer. Like I said an independent contractor would be something I'd look into. I think that would give us the most bang for buck.

Well, what are your major keywords? Don't expect to rank well for all those keywords unless you have specific pages for each combination of maximum three keywords. I.e.

dvd-duplication.html [ keywords = dvd duplication, dvd r, dvd ]
cd-sleeves.html [ keywords = cd sleeves, cd printer ]

etc.

On a side note, you are #1 on Google for 'cd duplication'. What more do you want?

Top two

Our top two terms would be cd duplication & dvd duplication. I would like to get #1 without paying for every click!

Post Thats a pretty tall order

Number one for those key phrases is going to take time and money that's the facts. We develop a marketing infastructure and have had great success for many of our clients but if your expectations are #1 on all of the engines especially Google you may be asking too much.
The nature of the engines is that they flux and getting a good page ranking these days does not guarantee #1 position.
However our goal is take over, rather then, top position as can be seen here. Look for ZDMAK

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=bm...n=20&fl=0&x=wrt

and here

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...q=porsche+tools

I would never guarantee a #1 position on your keywords but I would guarantee increased traffic.

Being #51 and moving up should be extremely hard. Look for high PR sites to link to you with the keywords, and content related to them. If you alredy in the top 200, you can play with things until you move up the rankings.

Go to the search engine of your choice, type in your keyword and check out the results. The people you need to recruit are those who have sites at the top. Maybe you can hire them, buy their sites, or get them to sell on commission, or purchase advertising from them. They are the people with the most relevant track records and the most direct route to your goal.

Hi,

I agree with Hexed. Stay away from large firms with 300 clients. Smaller firms often work more for each dollar, and they usally have a smaller overhead they need to cover.

Question DVD duplication from AscotMedia.com - need SEO

I need a better ranking on Google for 'cd duplication' and 'dvd duplication' keywords. who is able to help. I spoke with several SEO companies and agree that big companies charge a lot and bullsh%t a lot. Need a better deal for the money.

Also how come I am getting Yahoo ranking much easier than on Google?

Please, email me at dswinton@ascotmedia.com
