What is acceptable price for a SEO conference?
If we assume that a quality speakers are attending and that the conference is not shorter then 3 days, what you think would be acceptable price for a SEO conference?
What would be the most you would pay?

200-400$ a day would be ok. The fee is not that important, it is the total cost (airfare, hotell etc) that is important.
It is all a business expense anyway so some of it will be covered through lower taxes.

I would pay whatever i needed to to get the infomation.
You cant compare price with value. Some of the swiss guys i know that are going to ww next month are flying business class and paying around $2000 just for the flight so they wont be quibling over the price of a conference. You have to work it as a percentage of your income. If you are quite a low earner and new to this you may consider $300 a high price. If you have been in it a few years and you are a top level viagra spammer of gambling affilaite earning $100k a month would you be prepared to pay $3000 for a conference and think nothing of it. I know i would. |

So you would not pay over $50 to learn some new infomation, a skills set and associate with the fast runners and high rollers that may in the long run make you upto and over $100k per month?
Is that why some people never progress? |

yeah I guess so
maybe depends on the conference, they just don't interest me that much. Listen to people lecture etc. Perhaps seeing some people face to face from forums would would worth it. When I look at the topics they seem pretty basic. a lot of self promotion , etc. Its a good hustle for the speakers, and I guess If I had a desire to try to meet clients, I would pay whatever . But since I don't .... How much have you got out of the seminars your have gone to mick? |

Lots and lots.
I take a lot of notes, a tape recorder and an open mind. I digest the information and devour it. I then come home and i study what i have learned and implement it. THe biggest influence was a local conference and just from speaking to a few people and seeing a speaker in action i probably doubled the amount of work i got done in a day by using some of the practices he was teaching. Use of Knowlege is power and the more you learn the more you earn |

I think many people just don't know what to expect from these conferences. The truth is that they will never find out if they don't spend some money and attend one.
Maybe the good approach would be to pick a conference that is close by (no travel and accommodation expenses) and that is not too expensive. If that first experience was positive it would be much easier to spend more money later. |

Soldiers aspire to be generals, teachers aspire to be principals, doctors aspire to be specialists... SE Optimizers aspire to be Viagra Spammers of gambling affiliates... I know I should have listened to my parents and become a lawyer ;-)
