Using a client questionnaire for webcopy work
I'm in the process of developing a client questionnaire so that I can use this for future clients who come to me for SEO webcopy writing.
So, I want to develop a questionnaire to give to clients and have them fill out. Does anyone here use a questionnaire to figure out what to write for the webcopy for a client?
Here are some questions that I plan for the client to answer on the questionnaire;
- What makes your service different from your competitors?
- What should people know about you?
- Do you have any personal accolades or awards that people should know about?
- What is your target market?
The questionnaire is used to learn more about the client from a personal and professional perspective. Part of a good homepage webcopy is to communicate the USP (Unique Selling Proposition) of the client and their services to the reader. The best way to do this is to learn as much as I can from the client by using a questionnaire. In doing so, I minimize how much I need to write because the client is already telling me what they want to have protrayed on the website. I just have to take their content and put it into something concret and tangible.
I have more but that's a start.
