Some People Just Don't Get It

I frequently get requests through one of my sites for SEO work. Every now and then I get someone who literally wants to be ranked #1 for a major keyword on Google in a couple of weeks, and they are dead serious too. After you explain the limitations most understand right away, but every blue moon you get the guy who actually gets pissed and says he will just find someone else to do it.

They will likely find an individual that will agree to whatever the client wants... then screw him. That is what gives SEO a bad name: Clients that have unrealistic expectations and unethical providers that will promise anything in order to get the client's money.

heh.... I have a brother that puts new roofs on houses. Lots of people call him up and want their roof done now for 1/2 of his price. He gives up their biz easily, knowing that many of these customers come back later with a huge leak, woodrot, etc..... and they are then begging him to do the job.

Hehe sweet analogy.

In other words: long term SEOs last longer. But get them to bookmark you and your (well-balanced and -educated) reply, so you won't be forgotten come SEO woodrot

EGOL agrees: lol... I like that... tell them to please bookmark your site so that they can find you when they get
burned. lol I'll tell my brother to be sure that he leaves a biz card.
