If there was a gathering in Austin, I'd consider going to put faces to all the handles (except for Pheonix - I can see him just fine

Come to Europe!! Malta is a fine tiny island, with lots of IT companies seeking to set up base here (Online Gambling Industry, Microsoft and Oracle amongst a few) and is the first country to have 100% eGovernment!!

wow, this would be a great idea.... Major interest here....
I'd love to see it in New York City or Florida..... I agree, it's time.... There are other communities around the web hosting events, and honestly - their not half as substantial in the seo community as seochat...

We're going to need to see considerably more interest in order to get this off the ground. 28 votes is pretty sad, considering there are 14,000+ members and 200+ are online each day.
I hope that we can put this together, because it really would be something special and valuable. I believe that our community has a lot of strength, we just need to leverage it and get some publicity, and with DevShed backing it, that should be doable. I would guess that if we top 100 votes we can start a thread on thhe particulars of what to charge, what kind of an event it should be, etc. Last edited by randfish : March 24th, 2005 at 02:41 PM. |

I'll add to the post count, but since I never went further west than London, and my sites won't buy me a plane ticket, I won't attend regardless of the hosting city.
If you match the city - and the date - with some other big event though (and provided the city has enough hotels Just a thought. If no big alternate happenings are available, think Disneyland/-world |

This thread was only started a couple days ago....
I would be rediculously surprized if we don't get 100 interested.... Come on People - Pull your head up off the keyboard... It's time to wake up. |

Excellent point. If a time frame was set, events in the selected venues could be discovered and posted. Also regarding time frame - FT Lauderdale=bad in August & Chicago=bad in Jan. I want to go and see if people really wear orange shoes (other than cornerbacks for the Browns)! |

I am planning to vote once we establish a location in the central states...ahmmm Texas. ;-)
But seriously if it doesn't get on there then I am going to for Florida or New York. Florida is definately warmer.

If Florida is going to be an option, my vote will definitely be for December or January - it's a good time to leave the northern areas.
Wit's point is very well taken. It would be a good idea to try to match it up with other events or local attractions. If New York, there's always tons to do. If you go for Ft. Lauderdale, Miami is 30 minutes away and the prices are considerably lower... BTW - I cannot edit the poll, only site admin has that ability. If others would like a city added, please mention it in the thread. |

NYC is leading. Looks like Class will have to treat one and all at a tratoria!!LOL.
On the other hand Florida is mighty warm in the winter or New Orleans in February. Maybe Dazzlin could give us a tour of that party town. Dave |

I'd much rather see NY than FL. But if it would happen to fall in FL, then let it be in Dec - Feb.
Maybe we need a snazzier title to get the other SEO junkies in here... |
