Check out our company's site at : http://www.fool.com/ Job Description: The Motley Fool SEO Site Manager is responsible for driving a ton of traffic to The Motley Fool website from natural search engine results. Yes, a ton. Or a boatload, take your pick. They will do this by relentlessly optimizing our site architecture and all of our content. In addition, the SEO Site Manager will be tasked with building out a number of new content areas, using SEO best practices as the informational foundation for the areas. The successful candidate will be ready to come in here and light the world on fire with their SEO prowess. S/he will be able to demonstrate that they've been very successful in their SEO endeavors in other places. Coming to the interview with some ideas about our site wouldn't hurt their cause either. Finally, we're a personal finance and investment website, so knowing your stuff when it comes to money and finance is a definite plus. (Hint, hint.) Primary Responsibilities: The SEO Site Manager is responsible for driving traffic to our highest value areas through the ongoing optimization of our site architecture and content. Duties include: Keyword Selection: Identify the best phrases that marry our content with what consumers are typing into the engines. Build the Content Area: Act as project manager to bring a number of new content areas into existence, with SEO best practices as the foundation. Improve the Content: From the title tags and headers to the language of the article and anchor text in our links, make our content even more relevant to the phrases people actually use when searching. Improve the Architecture: From the home page through the aggregators and all of the sub-level content, weave it all together to bring the themes out for a better user experience, yielding more relevant and searchable content. Marketing: Think there's no marketing here? Ha! Every search engine entry has a headline and teaser text. You need to be amazing here. You'll be measured on how much traffic you drive, not how high up in the rankings you get. Measure, Analyze, and Learn: Using existing Fool tracking systems, gather the data to report on all of our organic search traffic, analyze the trends, learn what's working and what isn't, and then repeat from the top. Experience: Demonstrated expertise in natural/organic search engine optimization Experience in a content publishing environments Project management/organizational skills Familiarity with an online environment Knowledge of investing related products and services Experience with investing education or newsletters a plus Skills: Customer orientation Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects Excellent communication skills Analytical decision-making acumen Strategic thinking Leadership abilities in a cross-functional environment Proficiency with spreadsheets and other software programs Strong team player Education and Experience: BS/BA, related field preferred. 2+ years related professional experience.
