Prices for SEO work is really dependent on what you are expecting to get out of it in the long run. How much business with the SEO work bring to you? Ask your self these type of questions and then you should get an idea of how much it is worth.
If you can pay a company $2,000 / Quarter (3 months) to bring in 10,000$ worth of new business, then I would say that it is definitely worth it! SEO really comes down to investment and Return on Investment (ROI). Just like anything else, is 7% a good return, %15, how about %50 or even more!? I would evaluate it in these ROI terms and then that should tell you how much SEO work is worth for you.

I love the way you also like to drag threads into the gutter.
Even though you two are american (like British but much inferior) you are both so cool. |

Like you said, the question can't be answered except to say: The pay one may expect as an SEO is like the pay one might expect for almost any trade. It depends on the region, specific duties, company, experience level of employee, knowledge, etc. The best thing to do is research the area and see what others are getting or offering. But that being said, competition isn't the gutter, it's the American way! |
