SEO Attack. you need to make sure you get references and proven records of success from anyone you hire. You should check if their previous sites have had stable rankings for a few years or if grey hat techniques have ensured they are always moving up and down. If you are unsure you can get us to analyse their site for free.

I know this problem well, I head an SEO team in the south of England and when we wanted to recruit we found it easiest to bring in people with good IT skills and train them in SEO.

If you are still looking to fill the vacancy I would be interested in learning more.
