SEO Professional Required
Hi. I have a .org web site. carshelpingamerica
We are a small car donation company raising funds for 80+ charities. I am looking for someone to help me: 1. Optimize my site 2. Build links 3. Whatever else it will take to rank better in the SERPS The URL is 4 yrs old. I am listed in DMOZ, Yahoo directory, BOTW. There is not a tremendous amount of competition for the popular keywords Car Donation, Donate car. My budget is around $500/mo. If you are qualified (have some references) and think you can really help please let me know. Thanks Marty |

A good way to compare your site vs. top ranking sites is to look at their backlinks. Here is a useful free tool: http://www.backlinkwatch.com You will find most of the top ranking firms related to your industry have 3,000 - 4,000 backlinks and some have as many as 20K vs. your 3. On your limited budget you will probably have to settle for targeting particular geographies first and slow build your popoular for the more competitive terms above over the years if at all. Also links in the car industry (even though you are a charity) are some of the toughest to come by. Your budget is what it is but it won't get you too far very quickly. Perhaps one of our off shore members will respond with an offer for you. Good luck! Sincerely, Europa

What europa said is correct to get ranking for keywords mentioned have lot of competition and getting ranked them will lot of though job. So what I suggest u go for some other keywords related to your site which will give you good traffic.

I know ur question is for Fathom but still...... There's nothing here which could'nt be understood. A question asking for a SEO Professional generally attracts a lot. And its quite natural that the most deserving people are those who have a lot to show for and have earned a reputation here. My main point is, the question has been put on the forum so obviously its for the reputed members of the forum. You might be a bigshot in your own right but if you are a poster who just have a handful of posts and nothing to show here, you are not the one who deserve to solicit the client. I mean who knows what you are by just one post and by putting up all your credentials that i am this and that when it comes to SEOing. Again as simple as that, the person who needed a professional posted a question at the forum, so he is obviously looking for a good reputed forum member whom all can recommend.

Here's one more sane advice, why dont you showcase your skills by spending some time here and outplaying all others with your knowledge. If its worth it, you'll get it. Just making out from the first post of yours, it only looks to be a desperate post asking for a project. One more thing, the kind of post you made, such posts by new members are a routine affair here, so how can one rely on your post and how does it make you different from other such posters?? |

I have no personal issues with you here. But talking about soliciting clients, sorry to say you wont find a single such post such as yours in my posts, so better not to point a finger at that direction. And for your information, even i agree with you that high number of posts dont make you a perfect seo, but here its something more about the posts. People here know each other well (especially the senior one) and their work does'nt need a qualification from others. Thats all from my side, and no need for a thanks. You are still welcome here! |

Hi,
My post is not concerned to this particular post...But i want to add some lines here..i have seen here that some people are trying illogically posting just to increase their posts rather than giving exact way to the particular post it meant for. I don't know what they want to present by doing that. So, i m requesting all the seniors here to take some measures to avoid all these adrupt going on.

To Newbies Trying To Solicit Clients
***This is the second time I am posting this note***
Prove yourself before trying to solicit clients from this forum. Unless you have a good number of posts and a good reputation in this forum, all your efforts to solicit clients will be marked as spam and deleted. Further posts like this can call for a warning or even a ban by the forum admins/ moderators.

Yes they ask for a qualified professional... and what they got [from you] was a lurker that hasn't shown any professionalism. You may indeed be the best SEO around for the money but your actions don't show that. You don't come off as any ol' professional... you haven't shown any professional additude here, no professional knowledge, no professional skill, no professional experience - what you did show is that you can come out of the woodwork when someone offers $$$ and only then do you say "I'm a professional". ... I'm not stopping you from acquiring clients - I'm telling your potential clients "to pause" and really look at your shown professional actions before they hand over a penny... Because you don't act like a professional... you act like a wantabee, a scammer. That just MY OPINION... but since every one else posts 'free sound advice' I would say they are far more professional than you. Last edited by fathom : April 1st, 2008 at 07:00 PM. |

Your point is well taken - here's mine... I have seen many posters request services, to have a bunch of [oh boy - I can make some free money] self-claiming PROFESSIONAL talk them up... they get the cash and then can't produce... and that isn't what anyone wishes to pay for. I've found that while my colorful rhetoric makes me look like the A-hole to the "potential service provider" and takes the thread totally off-topic... it does help the person looking for a service provider to not jump for the first moron that says "I'm a professional," "I'll do your SEO for $500/month"... whether they can achieve results or not. Here's the skinner... "what does KSeoWorkz do after he doesn't get this job"? Does he start posting good solid advice so everyone can see how "professional he really is" and then gets the opportunity for future jobs... OR Does he JUST LURK and wait for the next person that doesn't know anything -- to post "I'm a professional"... Reviewing post history of members really shows how "PROFESSIONAL you are"... KSeoWorkz could show some truly incredible stuff that he knows so everyone can see "he's worth the risk"... or not and continue to hide he professionalism and credentials... that's really his choice. My choice is making him "prove his worth" - if his post count only increases by solicitions and defense of solicition posts - we can all see his shown worth.
