I'm looking for a freelance search engine optimization person. I'm an attorney in Fort Lauderdale (23 years) and have been running a successful commercial website (ie unrelated to my practice) for 6 years, so the new venture I have in mind is not just a lark.

I would like to start marketing a lawyer directory site just for the state of Florida. I have already built a site at www.browardlawyerdirectory.net but the site will be changed to floridalawyerdirectory.com which is a domain that I happen to own. I am committed to spending significant advertising dollars to market the site to lawyers. (ie by running ads in the Florida legal publications) I need an SEO expert to get the site out in front of the public, ie through search engines. I'm also looking for someone who is willing to put in time on this project in return for profits/equity in my company instead of salary.(ie a true partner) I'm looking for a long term relationship with an SEO person just like I've had an excellent long term relationship with my programmer for my other site. (he lives 1500 miles away but we work together flawlessly)

Lately we have been taking on project similar to yours.

We either build in equity or a bonus structure to cover our expenses along with tapping into the profits, considering we are taking the risk of not getting paid or having to wait to get paid on the back end.

I like the bonus structure better, if we were actual business partners it could make things sticky, but with the right contract I would be will to talk about it.

Disregard Fryman's previous post. He seems to enjoy being negative and nitpicky (too much time on his hands).

I think it is funny when SEO's try and have all of the communication between them and a potential client hidden, like using a PM.

I think is better for the person who is looking for someone to have the potentail firms, contractors, free-lancers and potential partners post everything in the thread.

This way if the SEO was a scammer or if their post showed they didn't know what they were talking about the others in the forum would let the potential client know before they get taken advantage of. To me it is a huge advantage to the potential client.

Everyone wants to talk about ethics these days but yet most in the industry still try and hide what they do.

Why is that?
