When you respond saying, "I think and sometimes" you are offering suggestions that don't appear to be backed up by anything other than conjecture.

No one disputes that a Meta Page Title Tag is an important function of SEO but when you include meta-descriptions and mention keyword research others might think you are talking about the meta-keyword tag which has been dead a long time.

We have had numerous posts regarding these topics and the use of keyword tag and meta-description have been proven to be of virtually no value today as per the comments above.

Would love to see some examples from you of advanced A/B tests - techniques you have done in larger markets that others can apply. Honestly it doesn't take much SEO knowledge to outrank people where there is little or no competition. Spouting SEO 101 techniques and waving a banner isn't of a whole lot of value unless you are responding to some Newbie's question.

It does work well, exceptionally well, but in order to see that you got to dump the training wheels.

Whether meta tags help with ranking or not they assist the SE's understand the web page.

...no they don't... at best they allow you to feel safe in a comfort zone.

Also, since the Title tag

This is a title tag <meta name="Title" Content="Something written here" />

and the Description tag show up in the SERPS I think you should pay attention to them, after all it is a human that reads them and decides whether to click thru to the web page not a Search Engine, if you pay a little attention to them you can definitely increase click thru's to the webpage which is what everyone wants anyway. Bragging rights that you are at the top of Google doesn't pay the bills when no clicks thru to your web page.

I have a commercial site that I'm battling back from obscurity... so ranks are not as good as they were... but no Meta Descriptions:

[cuddlesngifts.net] - Mainpage

For Baby Gift Baskets - description: Baby gift baskets and Radio Flyer "Welcome Wagon" sets provide the new arrival with everything they need to feel loved. Baby book gift baskets satisfy ...

For Baby Gifts - description: At Cuddles ‘n Gifts, you can find that perfect gift. Personalized blankets and lovies are destined to become your child’s constant companions. Baby gift ...

after all it is a human that reads them and decides whether to click thru to the web page not a Search Engine... what's terribly wrong with these that ensure I get less traffic than a Meta Description can produce... Admittedly I believe I do better than using a Meta Description because the description changes to suit the query. [course I haven't been able to prove it's better without I saw no appreciable difference.

You will not find a single even rarely popular engine that focuses any measure of weight to Meta Tags... I concede that you can add wepof984y4jkfdue6ei4rr to your Meta Tag and the page will be found in results... if you can show "1" sale conversion that comes from that development I'll bow to your superior abilities.

The fact that snippets can create the equal listing appeal (and moreso) drops this to down to a single vantagepoint and...

...using your own argument "after all it is a human that reads them and decides whether to click thru to the web page not a Search Engine, if you must use wepof984y4jkfdue6ei4rr to see this how is that for human consumption?
